A model is a device type specification. It defines the supported features, configuration schemas, rules, etc. for that type of device.

To add a new model, click the “Add Model” button and fill in the model’s display name, type, and icon.

Once you’ve created it, click the model ID to further configure the new model:

  1. Info – Click the edit button on the right to update or change the model’s name, type, icon, and other general properties.

  2. Files – In the Files section, you can upload new firmware files that will be visible for customers and MSPs in the customers’ portal. See how to add new firmware files.

  3. Special Access – Special access allows administrators to grant access to specific models to only selected customers. This feature is useful for limiting access to a model that is still under development or in private beta testing.

  4. Rules – Rules are sets of logic that the server applies to devices’ telemetry messages. When a configured rule applies, a new incident will be created for the customers with the associated priority.

Once you’re done with the configuration, click the “Publish” button to make the model visible for your customers.
